Teen charged with shooting cab driver

The Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force has apprehended a juvenile from Elliott who was wanted in connection with the December shooting and robbing of a Yellow Cab driver.

Shawn Thomas, of Ainsworth Street, was arrested yesterday in Marienville, Forest County, and taken to the Allegheny County Jail. He will turn 17 next month but he will be charged as an adult. He faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and robbery.

On Dec. 29, police found a cab driver with a gunshot wound to his stomach in the 400 block of Moore Avenue in Knoxville. The victim was treated at UPMC Mercy.
