Officer Stephen J. Mayhle's funeral, to be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Indiana, Pa., is open only to his family, church members and law enforcement personnel.
Public visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at the John Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Route 119 in Indiana.
State police in Indiana, whose troopers are assisting with traffic control today and tomorrow, advise that parking at the funeral home is limited. Troopers recommend motorists use shuttle bus service from about a half-mile away at the Indiana County Technology Center on Hamill Road.
A graveside service, with full military honors, will be open to the public following the funeral service.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The public is welcome to view the procession from sidewalks as the motorcade travels from the funeral home. The procession is planned from North Fourth Street, across Philadelphia Street and onto South Ninth Street/Oakland Avenue to the cemetery.
Those attending the graveside service are advised to park vehicles in the south lot near the ball fields off University Drive on the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Shuttles will be available from there, police said.
All other traffic likely will be disrupted in the borough between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. tomorrow.
