Snow, ice making some local roadways slick
Wednesday, April 08, 2009

Lingering snow showers and ice are making some roadways slick again this morning across Western Pennsylvania.

Motorists should be alert for black ice, especially on bridges, ramps and overpasses. Temperatures were hovering around the freezing point in most of the region before sunrise.

Several early accidents were reported west of Pittsburgh before dawn, including Route 22 eastbound near the McDonald area and along the Findlay Connector (Pa. Turnpike 576) approaching Route 30 in the Imperial area.

Commuters also can access the updated traffic conditions to find the best routes.

Expect snow flurries to end with a chance of some sunshine later this morning. Highs are expected to reach the lower 50s. Check out the latest conditions and forecast on the PG's weather page.
