Banff Mountain Film Festival April 10-11
Wickedly spectacular mountain biking, paragliding the Russian steppes, preserving a sockeye salmon run, building terrain parks and the "hardest rock climb in the world." Get out to the great indoors for a return of the Banff Mountain Film Festival, a collection of outdoors-related indie shorts. Venture Outdoors sponsors the festival's seventh consecutive tour at Downtown's Byham Theater, Downtown.
"The films vary from high-adrenaline, beautiful landscapes and even wildlife research, but all of the films share a sense of adventure," said Seth Gernot, Venture Outdoors' bike tour coordinator. "They take you places you normally don't get to see."
A repeat of last year's sellout is expected. Starts at 7 p.m. both nights. Tickets range from $8.50 to $18.50 and are available at the box office at Theatre Square, Downtown, 412-456-6666 and www.ventureoutdoors.org.
