The first major track meet of the season will be held Saturday at West Mifflin Area High School's Titan Stadium.
The Tri-State Track Coaches Association championships will get under way at 9:15 a.m. with field events. Trials in track events will get begin at 9:45 a.m. with finals expected to begin about noon.
The TSTCA championships comes on the heels of the South Hills Classic that took place this past Saturday at Baldwin High School. If the results from the classic are any indication, competition at the meet should be outstanding.
"We had 19 records either set or tied at the classic. That's good for this early in the season," Baldwin track coordinator Ed Helbig said.
More schools and athletes will compete at West Mifflin, which should make for better competition. Helbig will be interested to see Saturday's results.
"I think the fact there were more schools involved in indoor track this year has shown in some of the early results," he said.
At the South Hills Classic, Elizabeth Forward's Tim Dixon was a triple winner and set a pair of meet records. He won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes. He set records in the 200 (22.63 seconds) and the 400 (50.58).

On the girls' side, Freedom's Ashley Adams was a double winner and record setter. She won the shot put with a record throw of 44-101/4 and the discus with a throw of 136-10.
Mt. Lebanon's Kayleigh Birks set a record in winning the 200 in 25.99 seconds. Teammate Samantha Carl took the 1,600 in a record time of 5:19.77.
