Moon approves upgrade to technology information system
Wednesday, March 25, 2009

In an 8-0 vote last night, Moon Area school directors approved the purchase of additional equipment and a service upgrade to the district's technology information system.

The district will spend $48,240 on the project.

Chris Hatty, the district's director of technology, told the board, "We don't have enough retention to store information for more than two weeks and the tape backups aren't working."

Alan Bennett, the district's director of fiscal and school services, said there is not enough money in the general fund for this expenditure, but he suggested it be paid for through the district's capital reserve fund.
