Didgeridoo Hike March 28

It's standard practice for Venture Outdoors to reward hikers with edible rewards. Payback for this trip, however, is aural. Following an easy "walkabout" through Highland Park, hikers stop at a shelter where they'll learn to play the didgeridoo, an ancient wind instrument developed by the Aborigines of Northern Australia. The drone pipe is traditionally made from eucalyptus trees that have had their interiors hollowed out by termites, but these didges are made from PVC pipe. No experience necessary. After the lesson, hikers keep the instruments. 1-4 p.m. $27.50 kids, $33 Venture Outdoors members, $49.50 nonmembers. 412-255-0564, www.ventureoutdoors.org.
