A Parker man was killed this evening when the car he was driving on Route 422 in Kittanning, Armstrong County crossed into oncoming traffic and was struck head-on.

David S. O'Donnell, 42, was heading west on Route 422 in a Dodge Durango when he approached a crest of a hill and crossed over the center line, striking an eastbound Jeep Liberty, state police said.

Mr. O'Donnell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened about 5:30 p.m.

The driver of the Jeep, Lillana T. Smith, 21, of Kittanning, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment of her injuries. Police said she was wearing her seatbelt.
