No team has enjoyed Madison Square Garden more than Pitt, which has made the Big East tournament final seven times in the past eight seasons:

2001: Boston College 79, Pitt 57: Panthers enter tournament with 12 losses, then pull three consecutive upsets before losing to the top-seeded Eagles.

2002: UConn 74, Pitt 65: Game goes double-overtime before Huskies prevail behind 23 points from Caron Butler.

2003: Pitt 74, UConn 56: Brandin Knight plays through a sprained ankle and a late 14-0 run turns game into a rout.

2004: UConn 61, Pitt 58: After trailing most of the game, Ben Gordon puts the Huskies ahead with 30 seconds to play.

2005: Lost in quarterfinals.

2006: Syracuse 65, Pitt 61: Tournament MVP Gerry McNamara is not to be denied as Orange win four games in four days.

2007: Georgetown 65, Pitt 42: Offense disappears as Panthers score fewest points since scoring 30 vs. Temple in 1969.

2008: Pitt 74, Georgetown 69: Sam Young caps a dominating tournament performance with 16 points.
