The walls of St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland have witnessed several momentous events. Last week, another was added to the list: Monsignor Edward Burns, a Pittsburgh native, was ordained as bishop. As the service neared its end, Bishop Burns and close friend Bishop David A. Zubik of Pittsburgh walked together down the center isle of the grand cathedral. In April, Bishop Burns will be installed as bishop of Juneau, Alaska.(SCROLL DOWN FOR AN EXTERIOR VIEW.)
