Pitt senior point guard Levance Fields is listed as questionable for tomorrow's regular-season finale with Connecticut because of a bruised tailbone.
Fields was injured after being knocked to the ground by Marquette guard Jerel McNeal with 9:29 remaining in Wednesday's 90-75 victory against the Golden Eagles. Fields did not leave the game and continued to play, finishing with 17 points and 10 assists.
"I didn't see it when it happened," Pitt coach Jamie Dixon said. "Seeing it on film he really went down hard and landed right on his backside. There was a substantial drop there. You could see where the pain would be."
Fields spent most of his day yesterday with doctors and receiving treatment. Dixon said he would wait to see how Fields is feeling today and Saturday before making a decision about his playing status.
Dixon said he suffered a similar injury during his playing days, and that it can be bothersome to play through.
"It's very painful. It's a tough injury," Dixon said. "We'll see how he feels [today] and go from there."
Fields was unavailable for comment.
