Oakdale has launched a neighborhood watch e-mail list to inform residents of criminal or suspicious activity.
Following a rash of car break-ins last month on Highland and Center avenues, concerned residents partnered with the Oakdale police to create the watch.
The service will quickly and efficiently alert neighbors so they may take extra precautions, list manager Nigel Broadbent said at the borough council meeting last night.
"We're not saying Oakdale is a crime area, but we want to keep it crime-free," he said.
Oakdale residents may join the notification list by e-mailing their name, home address, phone number, and e-mail address to OakdaleNeighborhoodWatch@hotmail.com.
