Crosby to miss second consecutive game tonight
Friday, February 27, 2009

CHICAGO -- Penguins center and captain Sidney Crosby will miss tonight's game against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center. It is the second game in a row he will sit out because of a sore left groin.

He participated in the morning skate, remaining on the ice for more than an hour, far longer than any of his teammates, but did not skate at full speed.

"It's way better than [earlier in the week]," said Crosby, who was hurt Sunday during a 5-2 loss at Washington. "I was kind of hoping I would be able to play tonight."

Crosby remains hopeful he will return sometime during the five-game road trip that begins tonight.
