High school musical season gets into full swing this week, with dozens of schools also kicking up their heels for county competitions.

The 13th annual Westmoreland Night of the Stars is 6:45 p.m. May 5 at the Palace Theatre, Greensburg; 14 Westmoreland County high schools are entered (denoted with a +).

The 15th annual Henry Mancini Awards for Butler, Lawrence and Beaver counties is 7 p.m. May 20 at Metheny Fieldhouse, Geneva College, Beaver Falls; 14 schools entered (denoted with a @).
