Man killed in Clearfield County crash
Friday, February 13, 2009

A driver trying to avoid a previous crash lost control of his vehicle, which rolled over, ejecting then crushing him.

Barry E. Abrams, 48, of Commodore, Indiana County, was heading north on state Route 219 in Burnside Township, Clearfield County, in a Ford Explorer around 6 p.m. yesterday. He came upon a crash involving another vehicle and a deer and swerved to avoid it, according to state police. The Explorer spun across the road and then into a marshy area, where it rolled over, ejecting Mr. Abrams. He was thrown in front of the vehicle, which landed on top of him. He was not wearing a seat belt.

State police are investigating.
