Beer: More favorite things that come in sixes
Thursday, February 05, 2009

The Pittsburgh BrewMasters club spent 2008 tasting dozens and dozens of brews at their HQ at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse in Crafton.

At last month's one-year-anniversary meeting, the group ranked its six favorites:

  1. Corsendonk Christmas Ale
  2. Orkney Skull Splitter
  3. Bell's Two Hearted Ale
  4. Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse Hell
  5. Samuel Smith Nut Brown
  6. Fuller's ESB

"Favorite Beer Night" was a retasting of six of the dozen favorites from over the year.

Founder Christine Span says the group tasted a total of 73 beers.

"We ask the members to score the beers based on their preference, from 1 (least favorite) to 5."
