Where: Gobbler's Knob for Groundhog Day on Monday. n How far: 11/2 to 2 hours from Pittsburgh.
Why: The town is making a weekend celebration out of the 123rd annual Groundhog Day event, which easily may be "overshadowed" by all the hoopla over the Super Bowl matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals. But a viewing of the Super Bowl Sunday night on the big screen of the Jackson Theater in the Punxsutawney Area Community Center is all part of the festivities. And rumors are flying that if the Steelers win, Phil will be so elated that he'll predict an early spring. Whatever the case, check out groundhog.org for a list of all the activities that kick off today. On Monday, the gate at Gobblers Knob opens at 3 a.m., and there's no charge. Phil's Prognostication will come at approximately 7:25 a.m.
Fun factor: 8. Hey, if they're showing the Super Bowl on the big screen it might even be worth the trip.
