An elderly Fayette County man fired shots at three men after they broke into his home and robbed him.

State police in Uniontown said the men broke open a locked door at the home of Kenneth Plummer Jr., 82, on Kaider Road in Menallen just before midnight yesterday.

The men assaulted the victim, took money from his pocket and then took money from another place inside the home.

As the men drove away towards New Salem Road, Mr. Plummer grabbed a handgun and fired shots at the car.

It was unclear whether the bullets hit anyone.
