Pitt reserve quarterback Kevan Smith, a Seneca Valley graduate, has left the football team and will instead play for the Panthers' baseball team. He was a minor league prospect in baseball coming out of high school.
After three seasons, Smith, a redshirt sophomore, had not progressed and coaches had asked him to move to tight end heading into spring practice.
Two other players with eligibility remaining who are not expected to return are linemen John Bachman (Moon) and Scott Corson (Johnstown).
