A 21-year-old Westmoreland County man was seriously injured shortly after midnight in a two-vehicle accident in Fallowfield, Washington County.
The victim, Zachery A. Lambing of Alverton, was initially taken to Mon Valley Hospital and subsequently was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
According to state police, Mr. Lambing was traveling east on Interstate 70 at 12:35 a.m. when for unknown reasons he lost control. His vehicle traveled up a hillside off of the south berm, started to spin, hit a tree and rolled back onto the interstate.
A mini-van driven by Virginia G. Kisiday, 66, of Coal Center, Washington County, who also was traveling east, struck Mr. Lambing's car as it came back onto the roadway.
Mr. Lambing was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his car. Ms. Kisiday, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
