Counselors at school of girl killed by dog
Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Michael Bjalobok, superintendent of the South Side Area School District in Beaver County, said that counselors were in place this morning at South Side Elementary School in Hookstown to speak to students about Brianna Nicole Shanor's death.

Brianna was mauled by a dog belonging to her guardian last night at her temporary home in Hanover.

Brianna had only enrolled in school there on Jan. 6 and had missed several days since, said Dr. Bjalobok. "We were really just getting to know her ourselves," he said.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
