Patrick Reilly, of Brookline, and Natalia Rudiak, of Carrick, have announced their intentions to run for the City Council seat now held by Jim Motznik.

Mr. Reilly, 26, is the community outreach coordinator for state Rep. Chelsa Wagner. Ms. Rudiak, 29, runs a small business helping nonprofit and community groups. Both are Democrats.

Mr. Motznik's council term ends this year. He is expected to announce a bid for district judge today at 2 p.m.

The primary is May 19.
