Pitt women's basketball coach Agnus Berenato announced today that point guard Jania Sims is out for the season with bilateral tibial stress fractures. Sims, who was injured in the Panthers opener and has only appeared in one game will apply for a medical redshirt.

Berenato also announced that freshman forward Kate Popovec is out 2 to 4 weeks with an ankle sprain.
