A Kentucky man was sentenced this morning to 40 years in federal prison for snatching an 11-year-old girl from a Wheeling, W.Va., street and raping her in Ohio.
Joshua Michael Ridings, 29, of Owensboro, will also be on probation for the rest of his life after he gets out.
There is no parole in the federal system.
The sentence followed his guilty plea in October.
The FBI said Mr. Ridings, while wearing only socks, grabbed the girl on Feb. 20, 2007, and drove her to Belmont County, Ohio, where he raped her behind a church.
Agents and police linked his DNA to that attack and another in Leitchfield, Ky., on Aug. 23, 2006.
