Nick Wilcox scored a game-high 22 points to help Class AAAA No. 4 Peters Township to a 63-38 victory last night against No. 1-ranked Upper St. Clair, which played without its leading scorer Christian Shea.
Craig Wolcott contributed 18 points, including three 3-pointers, for visiting Peters Township, which improved to 10-1, 3-0 in Section 4.
Brett McCormick scored 12 points for Upper St. Clair (10-2, 3-1), which had its nine-game winning streak snapped.
Peters Township jumped to leads of 15-9 after the first quarter and 39-21 at halftime.
Lucas Mickens missed an eight-foot shot with two seconds remaining, allowing host North Allegheny to hold on for a 58-56 win against Class AAAA No. 3 Central Catholic in Section 3. Jeff Haus scored 14 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter for North Allegheny (7-3, 3-1). Liam Halferty had 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Central Catholic (7-4, 3-2).
Mt. Lebanon rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to beat visiting Bethel Park, 49-45, and remain unbeaten in Class AAAA Section 4. Evan Pierce and Paul Lang each scored 17 points to lead Mt. Lebanon (10-2, 4-0). James Barton had 17 points for Bethel Park (4-8, 0-3). Mt. Lebanon outscored Bethel Park, 13-4, in the third quarter to turn a 30-23 deficit into a 36-34 lead.
Host Penn Hills (7-3, 4-0) rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit behind Ricco Harris' 20 points and 20 rebounds to beat Plum (5-7, 1-3), 55-51, in Class AAAA Section 2. Andrew Cressler scored 22 points for Plum, which led, 38-35, after three quarters.
Aaron Johnson had 34 points to lead Moon (8-4, 5-0) to an 82-61 victory against host Keystone Oaks (5-7, 1-3) in Class AAA Section 4.
Matt Madia scored 30 points to lead Class AAA No. 4 Hampton (9-2) to a 79-54 non-section victory against visiting Ambridge (6-6). Madia connected on seven 3-pointers, all in the first quarter.
T.J. Heatherington scored 27 points and added 10 assists to help Class A No. 1 Serra Catholic (10-1, 2-0) rebound from its first loss to beat Geibel (5-5, 0-2), 90-33, in Section 3.
Breanne Goodman had 16 points to lead Class AAA Hampton to a 58-41 non-section win against visiting Vincentian Academy, ranked No. 2 in Class A. Adrianna Ferraro added 13 points and Mallory Schaffer scored 12 for the Talbots (8-2). Keturah Vactor had 15 points to lead Vincentian Academy (9-3).
