Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato today announced that the holiday tree in the Courthouse Courtyard will once again be transformed into the "Terrible Tree" in honor of the Steelers' return to the playoffs.
Fans are encouraged to contribute black and gold decorations and Steelers paraphernalia to adorn the 20-foot tree, accoring to a news release. Donations will be accepted daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the guard station in the courtyard of the County Courthouse at 436 Grant St., Downtown.
County workers will trim the Terrible Tree throughout the week.
The Terrible Tree was first created during the Steelers' successful Super Bowl XL run in 2006.
