Indianapolis Colts rookie offensive linemen Mike Pollak and Jamey Richard did not travel with the team to San Diego yesterday and will not play tonight against the Chargers in the playoffs.
Pollak, a starting guard, and Richard, a backup center, did not practice all week because of ankle injuries they sustained in a 23-0 victory Sunday against Tennessee.
Coach Tony Dungy has said that if Pollak could not play, Dan Federkeil will start in his place. Federkeil started the first three games at right guard this season.
"[Dan] will do fine," Dungy said Thursday. "He's practiced well, and he'll be fine."
Linebacker Gary Brackett, a defensive captain, is the only other player Dungy has ruled out. Brackett hasn't played since Nov. 30 a bone in his lower right leg was cracked.
Dungy said he would likely move outside linebacker Freddy Keiaho to Brackett's spot in the middle and put Tyjuan Hagler, a starter last year on the outside, in the starting lineup.
