Winter weather advisory lifted, but ...
Sunday, December 21, 2008

The National Weather Service has lifted a winter weather advisory for Allegheny County that was posted last night, but we're in for a strong dose of winter nonetheless.

Today's forecast calls for partly sunny skies, with the temperature falling to around 20 by 5 p.m., and bone-chilling winds of 22 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Snow showers will move in after midnight with a low temperature of 12 forecast overnight and continued strong winds. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.
