Centerville road to be closed 3 years for Mon-Fayette work
Wednesday, December 17, 2008

A short section of the Old National Pike in Centerville, Washington County, will be closed for about three years as part of construction of the Mon-Fayette Expressway's Uniontown to Brownsville Connector.

The 1/10-mile-long segment of the road, also known as Route 2048, will close Jan. 5 at the Route 88 overpass near the Centerville borough building and is expected to reopen in October 2011.

Motorists can use a 4-mile detour along U.S. Route 40, Route 88, Blaine Avenue and Main Street. There will also be turnarounds at the site of the closure.
