Peter McAneny, president of amusement park operator Kennywood Entertainment, will resign at the end of the year, the company said.
Mr. McAneny, 56, will stay on for an undetermined period of time to help with the transition in ownership to Spanish-based Parques Reunidos, which bought the landmark West Mifflin amusement park and its affiliated parks in June. Before the sale, two local families had owned and operated the park for more than 100 years.
Mr. McAneny, one of the first nonfamily members to hold a top management position at Kennywood, joined the company 14 years ago as general manager of the flagship park.
In 2003, he was named president of Kennywood Entertainment, which includes Kennywood; Idlewild Park in Ligonier; Sandcastle Waterpark in West Homestead; Lake Compounce in Bristol, Conn.; and Story Land in Glen, N.H.
A successor has not been named, according to a Kennywood spokesman.
Parques Reunidos is in the process of consolidating management of the West Mifflin company with Palace Entertainment, its North American entertainment unit based in Newport Beach, Calif.
