Port Authority workers OK contract
Sunday, December 07, 2008

Port Authority bus and trolley workers today overwhelmingly approved a four-year contract.

Patrick McMahon, Local 85 president-business manager, said the vote at two sessions in Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland was 1,338 in favor and 44 opposed.

The agreement was hammered out last month under the supervision of international labor leaders in Washington, D.C.

The pact calls for wage increased from 1 to 3 percent, plus increased co-pays for medical.
