State police made eight arrests and issued 14 traffic citations last night and early today at a sobriety checkpoint in Center, Beaver County.

The checkpoint was in place from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the intersection of Brodhead Road and Sherwood Drive.

Troopers arrested five people for driving under the influence of alcohol. They also made two underage drinking arrests and one drug possession arrest.

They issued 10 written warnings.
