Big Ben watches buddy's back, 'NSYNC reunion rumoured, Whitney and Bobby try to reconcile
Friday, November 28, 2008

Did Big Ben Roethlisberger have to put one of his teammates on lockdown after boyfriend had a little too much to drink?

You know we don't know.

But the New York Daily News' Rush & Malloy reports that, according to sources, No. 7 was at a Chi-town hot spot celebrating but also keeping his eye on a teammate who was a little tipsy.

"Ben sat him down, gave him water and told him to chill," according to the source.

But every time Big Ben turned his back, his fellow black and gold member would try to sneak another drink, according to the report.

"Ben would break from chatting with two leggy blondes to point at him, causing him to sit back down," said the source. "It was like watching a little kid on timeout."

Quick, who is this quote from?

"I think I married for all the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and, like, doing something that made me really happy ... I just did it because ... for just, like, the idea of everything."

It's the always eloquent Britney Spears, who talks to Rolling Stone about her failed marriage to Kevin Federline.

Brit says it was KFed who left her, not the other way around as most folks probably thought.

Anyway, Ms. Spears goes on to say that her baby boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James, are picking up bad habits from their daddy, including sometimes dropping the F-bomb.

How lovely!

Of course, she's on the cover looking better than she has in a long time, in jeans, a gray T-shirt and very little makeup.

But honestly, we're kind of tired of seeing girlfriend's midriff. We realize we're probably in the minority but that's how we feel.

Since we mentioned Brit, let's talks about former beau, Justin Timberlake's former group, 'NSYNC.

'NSYNC-er Lance Bass, who has been mamboing the night away on "Dancing With the Stars," tells In Touch Weekly that there could be a reunion afoot (pun intended).

"It's a definite possibility. We are like brothers -- it's perfect," said Lance, who took third place in "DWTS."

This could even be a boon for non-NSYNC fans if it keeps Justin out of a leotard.

Rumors are surfacing about a reunion of another kind.

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Whitney Houston and her former hubby Bobby "The King of R&B" Brown might be retying their broken knot.

Apparently these two, who according to mega music producer David Foster's new book, seem "addicted" to each other, have been seen around Atlanta recently looking very cozy.

Meanwhile, if trying to work on a comeback album and keeping up with Bobby isn't enough, Whit is being sued by her stepmother, Barbara Houston.

According to the suit, Whitney was the beneficiary of a $1 million insurance policy when her father passed. But according to his instructions, the money was to be used to pay off the mortgage with the rest going to his wife.

"American Idol" winner David Cook's self-titled album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Album Charts and No. 1 on the Billboard Digital Album Charts.

That's the best debut of an "AI" winner since 2006.

You go, David!

Man, things are tough all over.

Wyclef Jean, who's always all over the place performing or producing, owes $2 million in mortgage payments on his unfinished mansion in Miami, so the property is now in foreclosure.

Miami-Dade County is set to auction it off Dec. 12.

A one-hour documentary on Pittsburgh powerhouse Phyllis Hyman will kick off TV One's "Unsung Heroes" series at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The show, hosted by '80s crooner now radio host Al B. Sure, will focus on the Clark Sisters Dec. 1; Donny Hathaway, Dec. 2; and '80s R&B group DeBarge.
