Not so par for the course: Now we take you live to Alcoma Golf Course (OK, we made up that live part, sorry), where Thursday the following took place: Tony Varlotta of Penn Hills shot an 80, which would be unremarkable except that he is 80 years old. Furthermore, Rege Wilk of Trafford shot a 72, which might be remarkable under many circumstances, but particularly so since he is 73. We can't make these things up.

Flood of memories: Much has been made about the fact that the record-setting quarterback for the St. Stanislaus High School Rockachaws in Bay St. Louis, Miss., is Brett Favre's nephew, Dylan. But the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the school's most famous football player is Felix "Doc" Blanchard, Army's Heisman Trophy-winning fullback and the first junior to win the award (1945). Blanchard was sent to the boarding school by his father because the kid needed more discipline. In 1991, years after the school introduced Blanchard to football and discipline, he gave the school some football memorabilia, including his Heisman Trophy, for a lighted showcase. Here's the kicker: It was all washed away by Hurricane Katrina.
