UNIVERSTY PARK, Pa. --- Penn State coach Joe Paterno said today that he may need replacement surgery on his right hip after next Saturday's regular-season finale against Michigan State.
"I'm probably going to have to get something done with this thing as soon as the Michigan State game is over, the next day, probably," Paterno said after the seventh-ranked Nittany Lions beat Indiana, 34-7. "I'm probably going to get a hip replacement or something like that, I don't know."
Paterno, who turns 82 Dec. 21, shrugged off a question about whether the game against the Spartans may be the last of his legendary career.
"No, haven't even thought about it," he said.
