Jarren Campman had 180 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 31 carries and led Clearfield (10-2) to a 24-21 victory against Brashear (10-2) last night at Cupples Stadium in the preliminary round of the PIAA Class AAA playoffs.
Brashear took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when James Reed ran 24 yards for a touchdown. Clearfield responded in the first when Campman scored his first touchdown on a 54-yard run.
Two touchdown runs by Campman and a 25-yard field goal by Parker Harrington put Clearfield up, 24-7, by halftime.
After a scoreless third, Brashear made it 24-14 when Taji Lining caught an 18-yard scoring pass from Henri Chatman in the fourth. A second Chatman touchdown pass, a 22-yard connection with Manasseh Garner, pulled Brashear within three points. A fumble by Chatman with approximately two minutes left in regulation secured the win for Clearfield.
