Analysis: Pitt is coming off its most successful season in school history. The Panthers advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament. This season coach Agnus Berenato returns senior guard Shavonte Zellous, who is one of the top scorers in the country, and junior point guard Jania Sims, a quick player who likes to play up-tempo. Berenato will be surrounding Zellous and Sims with some new talent, most notably 6-foot-6 freshman center Shawnice Wilson, the replacement for Marcedes Walker. With Zellous and Sims on the perimeter, the hope is that the supporting cast will help the Panthers develop into Big East contenders.
