Stalker overdosed near Abdul's home last year
Friday, November 14, 2008

The failed "American Idol" contestant and Paula Abdul stalker, who apparently killed herself outside Paula's house Tuesday, overdosed in the same spot a year ago.

TMZ reports that police found Paula Godspeed in her car unconscious from a drug overdose just outside Ms. Abdul's house earlier this year or late last year.

The woman was obviously troubled, and folks reportedly tried to get her help but to no avail, according to TMZ.

"I am deeply shocked and saddened by what transpired [Tuesday]," Paula Abdul told "Entertainment Tonight." "My heart and prayers go out to her family."

A truly sad situation.

President-elect Barack Obama may not be in office yet but he's still providing an economic stimulus -- for magazines.

For the second week in a row, Mr. Obama is the cover story for Us Weekly.

The mag looks at his role as father and family man.

"I think I'm a pretty cool dad," the president-elect is quoted as saying.

Well, he does have a little bit of swagger to him.

The First Family also is on the cover of People this week. Mr. Obama made their cover solo last week.

That's all we can say right now. We've got to make a dash to the newsstand.

Is Jennifer Hudson upset with Beyonce?

You know we don't know.

But apparently a friend of the grieving star says that Miss B, who co-starred with Jennifer in "Dreamgirls," didn't come to the funeral and has not offered a sympathy card, phone call, e-mail or text, Us Weekly reports.

As you all may know, Ms. Hudson is dealing with the loss of her mother, brother and nephew. All were brutally slain in Chicago last month.

Beyonce's daddy, Mathew Knowles, says his daughter did not attend the funeral because she was out of the country. "Our hearts are broken for the Hudson family," he added.

Funnyman Ben Stiller is said to be gearing up for a third installment of the "Meet the Parents" film.

Actually it should be called "Meet the Grandparents," since the idea that's being kicked around is to have Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner return as the grandparents of Ben and co-star Teri Polo's baby, reports our buddy Roger Friedman of Foxnews.com.

Of course, that would mean Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman would have to come back as the other set of grandparents.

Boy, the potential for laughs in this one is endless.

Let's hope it happens.

Has anyone seen the new photos of Britney for her upcoming CD "Circus"?

You probably have but just didn't recognize the former trainwreck.

Now we know Ms. Spears has made great strides in her comeback, working out, eating right, keeping her clothes on in public.

But even all her efforts don't add up to the blonde hottie in the pictures.

The photo shows a much slimmer pop princess with flawless skin. It just makes us realize that not only do you not have to sing the roof off to be a star, you don't even have to look your best.

Photoshop will take care of it.

Somebody also obviously did a few things to the Whitney Houston promo photo we saw earlier this week.

Girlfriend hasn't looked that good since she was locking lips with Kevin Costner in "The Bodyguard."

Altered photos or not, we wish them both well.

John Rich of the country duo Big and Rich is being sued by a guy who says John put a big beat-down on him last month.

Jerry Montano filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior court seeking an undetermined amount for the cuts, scrapes and bruising to his lips, jaw, face, teeth and nose, reports TMZ.

Funny thing, though, Jerry didn't press criminal charges at the time.

Oh, that's right, you don't get any money in criminal court.
