Carnegie Science Center broke ground today on its new $5 million SportsWorks exhibition.

The new exhibition, set to open Labor Day weekend 2009, will feature some of the most popular SportsWorks exhibits from the past with a new emphasis on fitness, nutrition, and health.

The previous facility was closed to make way for the light rail extension to the North Side.
