Thursday, November 13, 2008

Chad Hurley, one of the founders of YouTube and a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is giving $1 million toward an athletic and conference center being built in Indiana, Pa.

Mr. Hurley, a 1999 graduate, is asking that the arena inside the building be named for Mr. Hurley's former track coach, Ed Fry, who is retiring this year, IUP spokeswoman Michelle Fryling said.

The $40 million to $60 million development along Wayne Avenue adjacent to IUP will include a six-story hotel and is to be finished in 2011.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
