John Capers, of Butler, has been elected vice president for District 7 of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors. Mr. Capers, owner of Capers Real Estate Inc. in Butler, also is president-elect of the Butler County Association of Realtors for 2009.

Earlier this year, he was named Realtor of the Year for 2007 by the Butler County Association of Realtors. He also received the Emeritus designation in 2007 from the national, state and county Realtor associations, an honor that recognizes those who have 40 years or more of service in the field.

Mr. Capers received his Realtor license in 1958. This past year, he was honored for attending 50 consecutive Pennsylvania Association of Realtors state conventions. District 7 covers an area from Butler to Erie.
