Gerry Dulac's Week 11 NFL FORECAST
Thursday, November 13, 2008

Last week: 9-5 (.642)

Season record: 95-49 (.660

GAME: New York Jets (6-3) at New England Patriots (6-3), 8:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: The Jets have won three in a row and been a surprising bunch, rising to the top of the NFC East. Even more surprising is that the Patriots have managed to stay there without Tom Brady.

PREDICTION: Patriots, 27-17

GAME: San Diego Chargers (4-5) at Steelers (6-3), 4:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: The Chargers have never won a regular-season game in Pittsburgh (0-12). Then, again, the Colts hadn't won a game in Pittsburgh in 40 years ... until last week.

PREDICTION: Steelers, 23-20

GAME: Baltimore Ravens (6-3) at New York Giants (8-1), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: The Ravens haven't beaten a team with a winning record. Not only do they have five '07 playoff teams in their final seven games, this is the first of four against the NFC East.

PREDICTION: Giants, 23-16

GAME: Denver Broncos (5-4) at Atlanta Falcons (6-3), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: Too bad Disney already has the rights to the movie title, "Invincible." That's what the Falcons and QB Matt Ryan are when they play in the Georgia Dome (4-0).

PREDICTION: Falcons, 34-24

GAME: Detroit Lions (0-9) at Carolina Panthers (7-2), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: It's not getting any easier for the winless Lions, even with a new quarterback, Daunte Culpepper. The Panthers have won three in a row and are unbeaten at home (5-0).

PREDICTION: Panthers, 31-7

GAME: Philadelphia Eagles (5-4) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-8), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: Maybe the Bengals deserved a rest after finally ending their winless streak. The Eagles don't deserve one after having their three-game winning streak ended by the Giants.

PREDICTION: Eagles, 30-20

GAME: Chicago Bears (5-4) at Green Bay Packers (4-5), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: Never fear, two-game losing streaks, such as the one the Packers are riding, don't mean a lot in the NFC North. Now, losing five of the past six to the Bears, that could mean something.

PREDICTION: Packers, 24-19

GAME: Houston Texans (3-6) at Indianapolis Colts (5-4), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: Just because the Colts have won back-to-back games doesn't mean they have turned around their season. But, because they beat the Patriots and Steelers, it might be a good indication.

PREDICTION: Colts, 34-21

GAME: New Orleans Saints (4-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-8), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: Meet one of the NFL's new bright lights, Chiefs QB Tyler Thigpen. He throws touchdowns, he catches them and he has pumped some life, however minimal, into KC.

PREDICTION: Chiefs, 30-28

GAME: Oakland Raiders (2-7) at Miami Dolphins (5-4), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: The Dolphins are definitely swimming downstream, winning three in a row and looking like a team that can win the AFC East. Joey Porter (NFL-best 12 sacks) should give the Raiders the boot.

PREDICTION: Dolphins, 23-9

GAME: Minnesota Vikings (5-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: This will be a good indicator for the Vikings, who have won four in a row. It will also be a good test for the Tampa Bay defense: Can the Bucs stop Adrian Peterson, who put 192 rushing last week.

PREDICTION: Buccaneers, 20-16

GAME: St. Louis Rams (2-7) at San Francisco 49ers (2-7), 4:05 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: Embarrassing isn't a strong enough word to describe the Ram's first-half performance against the Jets. Confusing is a good word for what happened in the final seconds to the 49ers in Arizona.

PREDICTION: 49ers, 27-24

GAME: Arizona Cardinals (6-3) at Seattle Seahawks (2-7) 4:05 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: The Cardinals are tied with Tennessee for having the biggest division lead (four games) with seven games remaining. They would have to melt like cheese in the desert to not make the playoffs.

PREDICTION: Cardinals 30-24

GAME: Tennessee Titans (9-0) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-5), 4:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: The Titans opened the season with a victory against the Jaguars and they haven't looked back. Right now, they don't even have to look over their shoulder at Indianapolis.

PREDICTION: Titans, 17-16

GAME: Dallas Cowboys (5-4) at Washington Redskins (6-3), 8:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY: Tony Romo is scheduled to return for the Cowboys, making it the most anticipated Dallas return since J.R. Ewing came back to Southfork in 1996 Like J.R., the Cowboys are perceived to be dead.

PREDICTION: Redskins, 28-24

GAME: Cleveland Browns (3-6) at Buffalo Bills (5-4), 8:30 p.m., Monday

THE SKINNY: Was there ever a more pathetic display of football than the manner in which the Browns blew a 13-point lead against Denver? Unfortunately, it's on national display again.

PREDICTION: Bills, 24-15
