NFL Notebook: League rescinds fine on Moss
Wednesday, November 12, 2008

The NFL has rescinded a $20,000 fine levied against New England Patriots receiver Randy Moss for his comments about officiating. The fine was withdrawn by Ray Anderson, the league's vice president of operations, after a review.

Moss' remarks came after the Patriots lost, 18-15, at Indianapolis Nov. 2. The fine was never announced by the league. Moss said at the time there were "some real iffy calls out there." He added that good calls and bad calls are part of the game, and "you've got to live and die with them."

More Patriots

Quarterback Tom Brady is back in Foxborough, Mass., working out in the New England training room. Brady has had two surgeries on his left knee that was injured in the opener against Kansas City, ending his season. He has battled an infection that set in after the operation, which was done in the Los Angeles area.

Ravens

Baltimore placed cornerback Chris McAlister and strong safety Dawan Landry on injured reserve, ending their seasons. McAlister had surgery Monday to repair his posterior cruciate ligament and cartilage damage on his right knee in Coral Gables, Fla. Landry is still experiencing tingling sensations in his neck after sustaining a spinal cord concussion against the Cleveland Browns in the third game of the season.

Broncos

Injury-riddled Denver signed free-agent running back Tatum Bell to his second stint. This fifth-year pro played three years for the Broncos before he was traded to Detroit in March 2007. The Lions released him Sept. 2.

Elsewhere

The Falcons released receiver Adam Jennings and signed defensive end Brandon Miller from the practice squad. ... The Bears terminated safety Terrence Holt's contract.
