A McKean County man ccused of intentionally causing an oil spill in the Allegheny National Forest because he was upset with his former employer has been ordered to stand trial.
Christopher Horton, 22, of Bradford, was held for trial Friday on charges of causing a catastrophe, polluting and related offenses in the August spill at Snyder Brothers Inc.'s oil tanks.
Authorities say Mr. Horton and his father, Andrew Horton, were disgruntled former employees. They say Andrew Horton dropped off his son at the tanks and the younger Horton opened the valves.
Some 46,000 gallons to spilled into the forest and contaminated a stream that flows into a reservoir.
Andrew Horton is charged with similar crimes.
