It's likely to be a long night before a winner to the presidential election is declared. Pass the time playing this game, which also may remind you of some of the high points and low points along the campaign trail.
Object of the game: Get to the White House first.
What you need: A printer to print the attached .pdf files onto 11X17 paper, scissors to cut out the candidate game pieces, Die (raid Monopoly or another board game for one).
How to play: You can play with 2 to 4 players. If you have more people, break them up into two to four teams. Pick your candidates. To begin, have each player/team roll the die. The team/player with the highest number goes first, the next highest, second, and so on. Roll again to break any ties.
Move your candidate the number of steps indicated by a roll of the die. Follow instructions on the squares. If you land on Change You Need Trail or Maverick Pass, move forward on your next turn. If you land on the Bridge to Nowhere, you're out of the game. Sorry.
If a vice presidential candidate makes it to the White House first, his or her party wins the election, but he or she doesn't get to be president. However, it may signal future aspirations.
There's no time limit. If the election results are close, you may get to play several times.
