Directions to the sunny tropics? Take Braddock Avenue through the Monongahela River and make a left at the equator. Granted, those are old directions from a geological epoch when the Mon was where Braddock Avenue is now and most of modern-day Pennsylvania was near an equatorial zone. Albert Kollar, a geologist at Carnegie Museum of Natural History explains all that and more during a walking tour sponsored by the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association.
