
London designer Anya Hindmarch and Sigerson Morrison are the latest big-name fashion labels to partner with Target for lower-priced, limited-edition collections at the mass retailer.
Hindmarch's handbag collection includes 10 styles, ranging from a tan-metallic gold patent clutch to a black-and-brown, patent leather-faux python tote. Prices are $19.99 to $49.99 -- a contrast to the normal price of $995 to $2,500 for her bags, which have been photographed on celebs such as Angelina Jolie and Kate Moss.
Kate Sigerson and Miranda Morrison created 19 footwear options, including studded and jeweled ballet flats and pumps, suede booties, and d'orsay heels in patent and suede. Prices range from $29.99 to $39.99 compared to the average $300 to $470 for their high-end line.
The items are available at most Target stores and at Target.com through Dec. 26.
Ocean Style Magazine, an international luxury lifestyle and fashion publication based in the Caribbean, has issued a list of the world's "most beautiful people" in the latest issue -- and singing sensation Rihanna is at the top.
The twist to this list is that the 51 people named to it live around the world and have a genealogical connection to the Caribbean. They were chosen based on "a combination of physical attractiveness and beauty, personal character and substantive achievement, with the final cut reflecting the ethnic diversity, culture, values and ambition inherent in the phrase 'Caribbean roots,' " said magazine publisher Douglas K. 'Tis the season for Halloween, costume and masquerade parties, and MAC Cosmetics makeup artists have created 28 looks that they say even amateurs can create.
The looks cross seven categories, ranging from demons and ghouls in "Scaremeisters" to Mardi Gras-like looks in "Masquerade." They were chosen from submissions by 700 MAC makeup artists around the world and can be seen at MAC store counters, maccosmetics.com, facebook.com and youtube.com/ maccosmetics through Nov. 4. The top 10 looks, called "MAC Fantasticals," have lists of products used and detailed instructions on how to achieve each look. Those who want professional application of a look can schedule one at a MAC counter at Macy's stores and Nordstrom.
Sanrio has issued a limited-edition T-shirt to celebrate the 34th birthday of Hello Kitty, and $5 from each sale will be donated to the Humane Society of the United States. The shirt depicts the cartoon sensation holding a pet with the phrase "adopt a friend" underneath. They're available for $25 ($30 for juniors size) starting Saturday at Sanrio stores and sanrio.com.
