Friday, October 24, 2008

The operative word online these days is "OMG."

For the text message-challenged, that's 'Net slang for "Oh my gosh!" or "Oh my God!"

The latest bit of Web tech is the OMG-o-Meter.

This new feature on entertainment site Hollywood.com pits two popular TV series -- "90210" and "Gossip Girl" -- against one another, rating the way their story lines deal with hot topics like eating disorders, drinking problems, male prostitution and more.

Gaia is a virtual world/online teen hangout that launched in 2003. As with Second Life, users create avatars, make friends and participate in Gaia's social life, and they can spend money in its virtual economy.
