David Miller
Greensburg C.C.
The past week: Miller rushed for 195 yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns in a 62-7 victory against South Allegheny.
Check this out: Miller, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound junior, leads the WPIAL in touchdowns with 30, including 25 in the past six games. He has 186 total points and needs three touchdowns in the regular-season finale Saturday against Jeannette to tie for the most points scored in a WPIAL regular season in the past 25 years. Miller, who also plays linebacker, needs less than 100 yards to reach 1,000 for the season.
Did you score many touchdowns when you were younger? When I was younger in midget leagues, I was more of a fullback. I didn't get the ball too often. I blocked most of the time.
Do you have any celebration routine after you score a TD? Normally, I just hand the ball to the ref. My dad would kill me if I did any celebrating.
What is the key to beating Jeannette this week? I think we're more physical than they are. I think we can wear them down in the second half. Most of our guys play only one way.
Is this a heated rivalry? I wouldn't say we don't like each other. Some of us are good friends. We respect each other a lot.
Your coach, Muzzy Colosimo, is ... Hmmm. I would say a good cook. He owns a restaurant that I eat at a lot.
Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning or Peyton Manning? Probably Roethlisberger. I hate the Giants and Colts.

Beth Gordon
Allderdice
The past week: A senior and Squirrel Hill native, Gordon set the City League girls' cross country championship meet record, completing the Schenley Oval course in 19:43.69, breaking the mark by six seconds set by Schenley's Angelica Martinez in 2005.
Check this out: Undecided whether she will run in college, Gordon would like to attend school in the South and is interested in Duke, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Rice, Emory, Elon and the College of Charleston. She also runs the 1,600 meters, 3,200 and 3,200 relay for the Dragons' track team.
Did you know you had a record? I had run the previous week and had run a 19.42, which would have been a record, but that was when I was running with the boys' team. So I knew I could run the [City League] record girls' time, but I was concerned if I could do it or not running out there by myself ahead of everyone without anyone to push me throughout the race. When I was in the middle of it, I thought I had a shot, but I didn't know if I had done it or not.
When your lungs and legs tell you to stop, how do you keep going? I think of running taking about as long as it takes to watch a TV show and that really isn't all that long. Also, I figure once I start, there is no point in stopping and I might as well run as fast as I can to get done as fast as possible.
How many miles have you run in a week? When we do our training week just before the season starts, probably about 70 or 80. During the season, the most is probably 30 or 40.
Your pre-race meal is ... It varies. But, usually it is some sort of starch, usually some kind of pasta. And, always a nice dessert with it. I make sure to have a nice dessert.
