Defenseman Hal Gill will miss the Penguins' game against Carolina tomorrow night at Mellon Arena because of an unspecified injury.

His place in the lineup likely will be taken by veteran Darryl Sydor, who has appeared in just two of the team's first seven games.

Gill did not participate in the Penguins' practice at Mellon Arena today, and it is not known when he will be able to resume playing.
